George Nelson described the ultimate office environment as “a daytime living room where work can be done under less tension with fewer distractions.” Today we work whenever and wherever we are most comfortable—and with the Herman Miller Collection, Nelson’s goal is now closer to reality than ever before.
Rooted in Herman Miller’s archives of timeless classics, the Collection takes its cues from none other than George Nelson, who, in our 1952 catalogueue, wrote of the importance of continuing the creation of a permanent collection “designed to meet fully the requirements for modern living.”

Designed by materials consultant Susan Lyons, Outdoor Weave combines a sturdy monofilament polypropylene for strength and elasticity, with four multifilament polypropylene yarns to give it a great look and feel.
